On 06.11.2025, the first official Geneva Centre for Security Policy Alumni Networking Night in North Macedonia was organized and graciously hosted by H.E. Ambassador Christoph Sommer at his residence in Skopje.
The evening marked the launch of the GCSP Alumni Hub North Macedonia, a platform dedicated to dialogue, collaboration, and the shared values of peace and cooperation. The event also highlighted the 30th anniversary of GCSP, which brings together 12,000 professionals from 174 countries through 35 Alumni & Community Hubs worldwide.
A special highlight of the evening was the presentation of the book “30 Recipes for Peace”, created by Isabelle Gillet and her team in partnership with EHL – Swiss Hospitality School.
Together with D.Sc. Ilan Ristov Ristov, Hub Co-Leader, and as Founder & President of the Center for Security Studies – Skopje, the new GCSP Alumni Hub North Macedonia was introduced as a bridge between global expertise and local action.

Memorandum of Cooperation signed between the Faculty of Security – Skopje and the Center for Security Studies – Skopje.
I am pleased to share that on 22 August 2025, a Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Faculty of Security – Skopje and the Center for Security Studies – Skopje.
Together with Prof. Dr. Jonce Ivanovski, Dean of the Faculty of Security-Skopje, St. Kliment Ohridski University, and Prof. Dr. Katerina Krstevska Savovska, Vice-Dean for Education, we discussed today's security challenges and the importance of connecting academic knowledge with practical expertise.
This cooperation will focus on implementing joint activities in the fields of education, science, and security research.
I am confident that this partnership represents an important step forward in strengthening collaboration and building a safer and more resilient future.

Meeting with Mr. Vlado Gjerdovski, Head of the DCAF – Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance – Skopje Office.
Today I had an excellent and inspiring meeting with Vlado Gjerdovski, Head of the DCAF - Geneva Centre for Security Sector Governance – Skopje Office, where we discussed the ongoing and future cooperation between the Center for Security Studies – Skopje and DCAF.
Our conversation focused on strengthening institutional dialogue, enhancing research collaboration, and exploring joint initiatives in the areas of security governance, democratic oversight, and capacity building.
We also exchanged ideas about the upcoming SKOPJE SECURITY CONFERENCE 2026, and the possibilities for DCAF's involvement in this important platform for dialogue and policy exchange.
As the Geneva Centre for Security Policy (GCSP) Alumni Hub Leader in North Macedonia, I also shared updates about the GCSP Alumni Network (GANN) Event, emphasizing the importance of connecting experts, practitioners, and institutions in promoting peace, trust, and dialogue.
In addition, we reflected on the broader opportunities for collaboration with both DCAF and the GCSP – two leading Geneva-based institutions whose missions and values align perfectly in fostering effective, accountable, and resilient security governance.
“Grateful for this constructive and forward-looking discussion, and I look forward to translating today's ideas into tangible partnerships that strengthen our collective impact on regional and global security.”
